First of, i hope everyone reading this is staying safe and social distancing to protect yourself and others during these trying times. Please take care of your health, both mental and physical. Exercise, stay hydrated and read books!
If you're someone who likes to read, like me, or someone who reads when they have the time, the following books are perfect for you to read at a time when we are stuck indoors all day. They are the perfect escape!
These books are in no particular order. I added one from almost every genre so everyone can find something they like in here.
1. The Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard
If you are looking to escape into a fantasy filled world, this is for you. This is a 4 part series that you can binge read because all the books are released.
This is a world divided by blood - red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. That is until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power. Fearful of Mare's potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance - Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart.

This book drew me back into the world of fantasy books after i thought i'd outgrown it.
2. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
A convict with a thirst for revenge
A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager
A runaway with a privileged past
A spy known as the Wraith
A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums
A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes
Rating: 5/5
Honestly, this book is in my top 10 favorites of all times. The way Leigh Bardugo writes is amazing! You fall in love with everything, the characters, the story line, Kaz Brekker!
This is the first book in a duology, and if you love heists, crazy stakes and sassy characters with awesome character development, then i can't recommend this book enough! Everyone read this book right now!!
3. Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
Crazy Rich Asians is the outrageously funny debut novel about three super-rich, pedigreed Chinese families and the gossip, backbiting, and scheming that occurs when the heir to one of the most massive fortunes in Asia brings home his ABC (American-born Chinese) girlfriend to the wedding of the season.
Rating: 4/5
If you're looking for something funny with drama, this series is for you. I'm sure everyone has heard of the movie but i swear the book is so much better!
4. Bridge Of Clay by Markus Zusak
The breathtaking story of five brothers who bring each other up in a world run by their own rules. As the Dunbar boys love and fight and learn to reckon with the adult world, they discover the moving secret behind their father’s disappearance.
At the center of the Dunbar family is Clay, a boy who will build a bridge—for his family, for his past, for greatness, for his sins, for a miracle.
The question is, how far is Clay willing to go? And how much can he overcome?
Rating: 5/5
Since we are stuck at home with a lot of time on our hands, read this long masterpiece by the man who wrote The Book Thief. It's a slow story, mainly focusing on character development.
5. The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She’s made a mistake so huge, it’ll wreck any chance of a partnership.
Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she’s mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as housekeeper. Her employers have no idea they’ve hired a lawyer–and Samantha has no idea how to work the oven. She can’t sew on a button, bake a potato, or get the #@%# ironing board to open. How she takes a deep breath and begins to cope–and finds love–is a story as delicious as the bread she learns to bake.
But will her old life ever catch up with her? And if it does…will she want it back?
Rating: 4/5
This is a light romantic comedy, perfect distraction during these times. Sophie Kinsella never fails to make me laugh!
